CLIENT PACKING LIST: WHAT TO BRING AND WHAT NOT TO BRING
All personal items are searched upon arrival
Medical Information:
• Insurance information: A copy of your insurance card or/and Medicaid information for verification. Please also
bring your prescription card if it is different than your medical insurance.
• Driver’s license or other state or federal ID.
• Contact information for your health care providers, emergency contact, legal team.
• Medications: Please bring a list of all your medications and dosages. Be sure to bring a 30-day supply of each of
your prescription medications in the original pharmacy bottles with the information label intact. Over the
counter medications/vitamins will be given at the discretion of the providers.
Personal Belongings:
• You may smoke you can NOT vape.
• Bring a pillow, we provide the bedding. NO stuffed animals.
• Maximum of ONE suitcase, ONE purse/backpack and ONE toiletry bag. Any additional luggage/belongings will
not be allowed and cannot be stored at our facility. DO NOT OVER PACK
• Clothing for 1 week and laundry detergent (pods, liquid, powder). We provide washers/dryers. All clothing must
cover midsection/stomach/buttocks completely and have an appropriate neckline: no exceptions.
• Appropriate sleepwear (you will be in shared rooms).
• Comfortable shoes. No open-toed shoes in public spaces.
• Sweaters/jackets for fall/spring, heavy jackets/hat/gloves/boots for winter, a light jacket or sweatshirt for
summer.
• Summer wear: knee-length shorts, all shirts MUST HAVE sleeves of some kind – no spaghetti straps or tank tops.
• Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, body wash, shaving supplies, shower shoes,
bath towels and wash clothes. No products that contain alcohol in the first three ingredients. No aerosols or
products in glass bottles. No nail polish. No body sprays or perfumes. No tanning oils, other self-tanning products,
hair dye, bleaching products, etc.
• Limited makeup. Reasonable coverage for the purpose of self-esteem is appropriate. Nothing that
pushes the boundaries of self-advertising. This will be addressed therapeutically and as a team as
needed. Foundation, mascara, eye shadow and liner, is acceptable. Fake eyelashes, contouring, pancake
style, heavy attention-seeking eye liner, excessive eye shadow, and anything that is “extra,” will not be
permitted and will be stored in your luggage until discharge.
ITEMS NOT PERMITTED – DO NOT BRING:
• No outside food, snacks, drinks, candy, gum, cough drops, or lozenges.
• No electronics, including but not limited to: vapes, cell phones, smart watches, laptops, tablets, gaming or
gambling devices.
• No Earphones / Headphones.
• No hair tools such as curlers, straighteners, flat iron, curling iron, and dryers. Harbor Hall will provide hair driers.
• No weapons or contraband items – including firearms, explosives, knives, other weapons that might be considered dangerous or that could cause harm.
• No drug paraphernalia.
• No expensive jewelry or excessive cash. Only cash needed on campus is money for pop machine ($1 per can)
Additional permitted items:
• Alarm Clock.
• Reusable travel mug and/or water bottle.
• Small hobby items (books, sketchbooks, coloring books/materials, unscented markers, etc.).
• Stamps and envelopes.
• Guitar or other approved musical instrument.
Is your facility just for men?
No. Our Men’s Residential Treatment Facility has 40 beds and our Women’s Residential Treatment Facility has 8 beds available for treatment. This service is delivered to adults 18 and older.

Do you offer drug testing?
Yes.
Petoskey Campus:
Hours for drug testing- 8 am-12:30 pm will be expanding hours soon; please check with us.
Cheboygan Campus:
Hours for drug testing: Females- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 11-3 : Tuesday 10:30 -11:30 and 1- 3, and Friday 9-Noon
Males- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 11-4: Tuesday 10:30-11:30 and 1-4, and Friday 9-1.

Facilities
Our facilities offer residential treatment, outpatient care, and transitional living, with the appropriate level of care determined by our expert team. All our treatment services strictly adhere to defined policies and procedures and employ evidence-based clinical approaches to ensure effective and tailored care for each individual.
Our Staff
Harbor Hall’s Clinical Staff is a highly trained, professionally licensed and/or certified by the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). This multi-disciplinary team reviews treatment progress and makes recommendations for continuing care.
