Dr. Guy Golembiewski
Dr. Guy Golembiewski finished his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1980 from Ohio State University, College of Medicine, Columbus, Ohio. He then completed his internship in General Surgery at the University Of Washington Affiliated Hospitals, Seattle, Washington, including: Three months of General Surgery; two months each of Trauma Surgery and Internal Medicine; One month each of Emergency Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Burn/Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. Dr. Guy worked at Mercy Hospital, Toledo, Ohio where he was an attending physician with clinical and teaching responsibilities.
He had his own private practice in Toledo, Ohio from 1982-1996 where he averaged 4,560 annual outpatient visits. In 1996 he sold his practice to a local hospital and retired. That lasted for about a year and he then worked in Family Practice and Emergency Medicine in Temperance, Michigan.
Dr. Guy became the medical director of The Wellness Institute in Harbor Springs in 2001 and shortly thereafter became involved with Harbor Hall. When Dr. Wakulat retired in 2005, Dr. Guy took over as the medical director of our detoxification center. At present, Dr. Golembiewski is the medical director of Harbor Hall and he supervises the detoxification program as well as providing histories and physicals for clients in residential treatment and also provides medical coverage for the residential program.
In medical school Dr. Guy was standing within the upper one-fourth of his graduating class. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Recipient of Roessler Foundation grant in 1979. He had a research fellowship in Orthopaedics at Cornell University Medical Center in 1979. He received Honors in Orthopaedic Surgery, Anatomic Pathology and Neurology. Received Letters of Commendation in Pediatrics, Medicine, Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine.
Dr. Golembiewski is married to Dr. Andrea Naylor, a Physiatrist who is currently working for McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital as the Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department.
