Ms. Schuil is a warm, engaging, and intelligent therapist who peppers her practice with a modicum of appropriate (usually!) humor. In her work, Cathryn prides herself in creating a strength-based, emotionally safe, group environment conducive to individual client growth and self-discovery. Ms. Schuil operates from the perspective that her clients are more than the sum of their histories and addictions. Given her druthers, Ms. Schuil would take every highly resistant and well-defended client that enters treatment, and those in need of assistance via the Family Wellness Program designed to reunify children and their parents following court-mandated separation. Outside of work, Cathryn enjoys reading (it’s all about India at the moment), traveling (loves Israel, Italy, and Washington, D.C.), informative lectures, museums, art history, political science, anything tofu, and, of course, her family. Cathryn has a private practice in the Gaslight District of beautiful downtown Petoskey where she works with adolescents, adults, and families.
